Required License or Certification N/A Position Overview Primary Purpose of Position Position Purpose North Carolina A&T State University periodically has temporary staffing needs to support research activities and laboratory operations across the University. This recruitment is intended to identify qualified candidates for temporary Research Assistant and Laboratory Technician opportunities as workforce needs arise. Temporary assignments may be available in a variety of academic, scientific, engineering, agricultural, health, and social science research environments. Opportunities may support faculty-led research projects, grant-funded initiatives, laboratory operations, data collection efforts, field studies, and other research-related activities. Assignment length, work schedule, and level of responsibility will vary based on departmental and project needs. Potential Duties and Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to: Assisting faculty, staff, and research personnel with ongoing research projects and laboratory activities Collecting, recording, organizing, and maintaining research data and documentation Conducting routine laboratory procedures and experiments in accordance with established protocols Preparing laboratory materials, equipment, specimens, and supplies for research activities Operating, cleaning, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments Assisting with data entry, analysis, and preparation of reports, presentations, and research summaries Supporting fieldwork activities, surveys, interviews, and other research-related data collection efforts Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards and research protocols Managing inventory of laboratory supplies and assisting with procurement activities as needed Assisting with literature reviews, research documentation, and administrative support functions Supporting the implementation of grant-funded research projects and special initiatives Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor or principal investigator Additional Information Specific job duties, qualifications, work schedules, and assignment durations will vary depending on the needs of the hiring department and the nature of the temporary assignment.
