Job Description

Ready to be a part of a hardworking team that values integrity, teamwork, and excellence? We're looking for a Research Technician to join our Product Development team! As a Research Tech, you'll play a hands-on role in organizing, planting, maintaining, and harvesting research and demonstration plots that support our variety and hybrid selection efforts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and contributing to meaningful agricultural research. If you're detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and enjoy independent work, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
Plan and prepare research plots, including seed counting, ordering supplies, and filling planter boxes Assist with calibrating equipment such as planters, sprayers, scales, combines, and tractors Support construction of plot location maps and learn research software Prepare and ship test seed Plant plots in a timely manner and label testing blocks accurately Maintain plots through tillage, spraying, hand weeding, and general upkeep Collect detailed field notes (emergence, stand, flowering, height, maturity, etc.) Safely operate plot combines and assist with harvest activities Provide basic maintenance on research equipment Participate in winter work, including equipment maintenance, process improvements, and testing new technologies Take on additional tasks as needed
What We're Looking For:
Degree in Agronomy, Crop Production, or equivalent experience Experience operating farm equipment (tractor, combine) Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work extended hours as needed Comfort with basic computer programs (Excel, Word) Ability to work independently and learn new tasks quickly
