Cherry Hill, New Jersey Time frame: Fall 2026 (position lasts approximately 16-20 weeks) Appointment type: Part time
Workdays:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 7am - 2pm (hours per day may vary depending on clinic schedules)
Compensation:
$25/hour Job overview: ANSIRH is seeking a research assistant (RA) to recruit patients to participate in a study. The RA will approach patients in the clinic waiting room Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for approximately 16-20 weeks starting in Fall 2026. The RA will approach abortion patients and ask if they are interested in participating in the 20-minute study about reproductive health. The RA will explain study participation and answer any questions about informed consent; track participants on a recruitment log; conduct short, structured interviews with participants; and enter clinical data into a database. ANSIRH is a collaborative research group at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and a program of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health committed to building and supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace. ANSIRH conducts innovative, rigorous, multidisciplinary research on complex issues related to people's sexual and reproductive lives and envisions a world in which all people have the resources, support, and freedom to achieve reproductive well-being.
Duties include:
Approaching patients in the clinic waiting room Explaining the study to participants and answering their questions Maintaining a detailed study log Conducting a short verbal assessment and interview with participants Providing support as participants complete self-guided surveys on an iPad Entering clinical data into a REDCap database for each participant at the end of the day Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any field, or relevant education and experience Comfort with interacting with patients in an abortion clinic waiting room Comfort working in an environment in which abortion is discussed regularly Basic research skills, including experience obtaining informed consent and tracking study participants and study IDs Fluency in English and Spanish To apply, complete this Qualtrics survey: https://ucsf.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_26acaNcJFcNP9
