$55,000 - $60,000 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater. All regular positions also entitle the employee to several benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement which is largely paid by New Mexico Tech for the employee and dependents.

This is a joint position between the Petroleum Recovery Research Center (PRRC) and the Department of Electrical Engineering at New Mexico Tech (NMT) in Socorro, New Mexico. The candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on power and energy systems. The candidate requires a strong research background in power and energy systems (smart grids, microgrids, distributed energy resources) and hands- on experience with power system hardware, real-time simulation (e.g., OPAL-RT, RTDS, Typhoon HIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL/PHIL), and laboratory experiments. The position will include laboratory development, research and journal publication, conference presentation, proposal writing, and student mentoring.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. or other doctorate level equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Energy Systems, or related fields. Research background in power and energy systems (smart grids, microgrids, DERS ).
Hands-on experience:
power system hardware, real-time simulation (OPAL-RT, RTDS, Typhoon HIL), HIL/PHIL, or laboratory experiments. Programming tools (Matlab, Python, etc.)
