Job Description
LC ESI-MS
analyses and measurements of chemically modified proteins and peptides. The laboratory uses state-of-the-art techniques and mass spectrometric instrumentation to measure proteins, peptides and small molecules in collaboration with research groups at CSHL and at external partner organizations. Developing and publishing innovative approaches for proteomic and metabolomic analyses is a core mission of the lab. The successful applicant will participate in all laboratory activities, ranging from sample processing and mass spectrometry-based proteomic methods development to instrumentation maintenance. In addition, Research Associates will actively contribute to lab meetings, scientific presentations, and journal clubs. The successful candidates will be expected to:- Perform sample preparation and analysis;
- Operate Orbitrap mass spectrometers and micro/nanoflow chromatographers;
- Perform data analysis and reporting for proteomics and/or metabolomic experiments;
- Contribute to development of novel methods;
- Implement and test new proteomic and metabolomic techniques;
- Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures;
- Maintain and update written operative procedures and experimental protocols;
- Help maintaining commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems.
