The Health Promotion Research Center (HPRC) at Stephenson Cancer Center is now hiring a motivated Staff Research Assistant in our Tulsa office to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about public health, behavioral science, and hands on research that makes a real impact.
THIS IS NOT A BIOMEDICAL/BENCH SCIENCE LAB POSITION.
Instead, you'll be working directly with participants and research teams on multiple ongoing behavioral health studies. As the first point of contact for participants, you'll support NIH funded and pilot randomized controlled trials focused on health behavior change—including smoking cessation, alcohol use reduction, and marijuana use reduction. Your responsibilities will include participant referrals, screening, data collection, record keeping, data analysis, and report preparation. You'll gain valuable experience across the full research lifecycle, with ample opportunities to contribute to scientific publications. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus) 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting
Equivalency/Substitution:
Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
None.
Department Preferences:
Unpaid or paid experience working in a behavioral research lab. Experience working with Native American participants and/or knowledge of Native American Culture. Previous experience with psychophysiology helpful. Hiring Contingent Upon a
