Job Description We are seeking a Field Research Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in field research support, data collection, and adherence to safety and standard operating procedures and a proven ability to deliver accurate, high-volume work in outdoor and repetitive task environments .
Responsibilities:
Research plot maintenance, including hoeing, counting, and staking Disease inoculation and/or insect infestation per protocol Seed discarding in compliance with guidelines Plant tagging and labeling accuracy Leaf and plant sampling Irrigation setup and tear down Field data collection and basic recordkeeping General housekeeping and site organization
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Detail orientation with consistent accuracy in repetitive tasks Basic understanding of written and spoken English preferred Effective communication with supervisor and team members Ability to follow standard operating and safety procedures
Preferred Skills:
Competency performing accurate work in a repetitive motion environment
Expectations of Employment:
Able to complete repetitive tasks for extended periods Self-motivated with a positive attitude Must be 16 years or older Willingness to travel; occasional driving may be required Willingness to work more than 8 hours per day, including travel time to offsite locations Willingness to work up to 7 days per week during peak periods Schedule availability from early morning through evening Ability to work around soybeans, corn, pollen, and dust for long periods Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions Ability to walk, stand, and crouch for several hours at a time Ability to walk on uneven ground Ability to work at overhead and ground-level heights Reliable and punctual attendance Reliable transportation to work Personal phone use limited to breaks except in emergencies Ability to meet minimum performance standards If driving is required: valid driver's license, clean driving record, and willingness to meet required checks
