MONELL CHEMICAL SENSES CENTER
The Monell Chemical Senses Center is a world-renowned non-profit research institute, and a global leader dedicated to advancing knowledge about the senses of taste, smell, and related senses and translating its discoveries into real-world advances in policy, practice, and behavior. Monell is located in the heart of the vibrant educational and life sciences hub of Philadelphia. The Lim lab is seeking a full-time Research Technician. The starting date would be June 1, 2026, but can be flexible. The scientist in this role will work with a dynamic project team to execute experiments measuring perceptual, behavioral and metabolic responses to carbohydrates and carbohydrate containing foods. Specific responsibilities include scheduling team meetings, maintaining stocks and purchasing research supplies, recruiting and scheduling human research participants, preparing samples for tasting, executing psychophysical tests following specified protocols, record keeping/data entry, and communicating results to the project team.Skills and Experience Required:
Education:
B.A. or B.S. in Behavioral Science, Biological Science, Neuroscience, Nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related fieldResearch Experience:
One to two years of laboratory research experience. Experience with human subject research is preferred but not required.Organization:
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage ongoing and new projects.Protocol Adherence:
Ability to follow research protocols meticulously and maintain accurate and detailed records.Participant Interaction:
Ability to instruct research participants clearly to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively multidisciplinary teams.Interpersonal Skills:
Professional and effective interpersonal skills.Personal Qualities:
Demonstrated enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and a strong interest in research.Technical Proficiency:
