(www.missionanalyticsgroup.com) is a non-advocacy, woman-owned government consulting firm based in San Francisco. We provide program evaluation, data analysis, and technical assistance in health and human services. Our team serves state and federal government agencies with a mission to identify, support, and improve effective programs to help vulnerable individuals live safe, healthy, meaningful lives in their communities. Job Description We seek a self-motivated and highly adaptable employee to join our team of 19 researchers and analysts. This position will support all Mission's focus areas: support for individuals with disabilities, maternal and rural health, HIV/AIDS, long-term services and supports (LTSS), and programs for children, youth, and families.
Example Responsibilities Include:
Quantitative analysis using statistical programming packages such as python, R, SQL, Stata or SAS Data dashboard design and maintenance in Power BI or similar tools Technical assistance on data reporting or program practices Web-based research on public programs and policy Research support including data cleaning, data entry, and response coding in Excel, or other tools Contributing to reports and presentations Project coordination, including note taking, Zoom meeting management, and tracking deliverables Other activities as needed The mix of activities will be tailored to the skillset of the successful candidate. The research assistant position is ideal for someone seeking two or three years of work experience prior to graduate school. The research analyst position requires past experience in public policy research and evaluation.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or substantial coursework in public health, public policy, public administration, social sciences, math, statistics, economics, or related subjects Prior paid work experience (in any field, including full-time work, part-time work during studies, summer work, or paid internships) Interest in one or more of Mission's focus areas Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Strong quantitative and analytical skills Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Flexibility, adaptability, and an ability to learn quickly Strong time management skills and attentiveness to deadlinesDesirable Qualifications:
Experience in program evaluation, policy research, policy analysis, and writing Experience or coursework in statistics and/or statistical programming (e.g. R, SAS, Stata, Python, SQL or SPSS) Experience in data visualization for non-technical audiences Experience responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) from government agencies Familiarity with any of the following public policy areas: Developmental disability services Services under Medicare and Medicaid Ryan WhiteHIV/AIDS
Program or HIV care delivery Maternal health Long-term services and supports (LTSS) Behavioral health, aging, or disability policy About thePosition Anticipated Salary Range:
$70,000-$80,000 research assistant; $80,000-$90,000 research analyst (three or more years of related experience or equivalent). In addition to base salary, Mission provides annual retention bonuses and generous profit-sharing bonuses to staff at all levels. Candidates are required to work at least three days a week in our downtown San Francisco office. Remote employment may be available after two years' tenure. This is a full-time position with benefits including medical and dental insurance and company 401k contributions. We are open to part-time with in-office days. 75% time is required to qualify for benefits. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
