(TEMP)•Computing (Remote) University of Michigan•4.3 Flint, MI Job Details Temporary | Part-time $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Some college Report writing Computer Science Engineering Instructional materials development Research findings presentation Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description Job Summary The undergraduate student research assistant will support a computing education research project focused on the effective transfer of concepts across programming languages. The project explores how computing students can develop the ability to apply fundamental concepts across multiple programming environments. The student will work with the research team to design, study, and evaluate instructional materials and approaches that promote transfer skills. This position provides hands-on experience in computing education research. Responsibilities• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review and synthesize research literature related to programming language learning and transfer of computing concepts Assist in the development of educational materials that support transfer across programming languages Participate in team discussions to explore and refine instructional approaches and delivery methods Help implement and evaluate developed materials through testing, feedback, or analysis Assist in designing and applying evaluation metrics and methods to study effectiveness Contribute to the preparation of research articles, reports, and presentations Maintain clear documentation of research activities and outcomes and coordinate with members of the research team. Required Qualifications• Undergraduate student majoring in fields related to Computer Science, or Engineering. Desired Qualifications• Good communication skills. Completion of at least two computing courses (CSC 275 or EECS 280 or equivalent). Prior work experience with the research team is valued. Modes of Work Mobile/Remote The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis Background Screening The University of Michigan conducts background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks.
