Researcher/Analyst for the Justice Research Center at UVM Advertising/Posting Title Researcher/Analyst for the Justice Research Center at UVM
Posting Summary Support applied research within the Justice Research Center (JRC), by serving as a core member of an interdisciplinary team. Contribute substantially to externally funded faculty research, including the project "Impact of 12-month Postpartum Insurance Extensions on Maternal and Newborn Health", and large-scale statistical analyses of linked administrative and population-level data to examine health outcomes, policy impacts, and disparities.
Coordinate and implement research activities and complex data analysis in support of collaborative research with affiliated faculty, including externally funded projects involving large-scale and administrative data. The role emphasizes high-quality data management, statistical analysis, and collaborative research processes that connect data to meaningful action across both applied and faculty-led research. Coordinate research activities, conduct complex statistical analyses, develop data systems, and support research design and dissemination efforts. Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Master's degree in statistics, data science, social science, public health, or related field and relevant research or data analysis experience (including graduate training and applied research experience)
Demonstrated experience with data management and statistical analysis
Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., R, Python, or similar)
Experience working with complex or administrative datasets
Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences Desirable Qualifications Experience with survey data collection and management
Experience working with justice, health, medical or social service systems data
Experience working with large-scale, linked, or longitudinal datasets
Familiarity with applied research approaches
Familiarity with statistical modeling and/or causal inference methods
Experience supervising or mentoring and training student workers
Experience with reproducible research practices (e.g., version control, documented workflows)
Ability to translate technical findings into accessible insights for non-technical audiences Anticipated Pay Range $70.000 - $75,000
Other Information This position requires regular collaboration with the team on campus. This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule in accordance with UVM telecommuting policy after further review of performance. Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, Background Check required for this position
