Research Assistant IThe Research Assistant I supports the Radiation Oncology Research Department, which conducts advanced clinical and imaging-based research to improve understanding of cancer treatment response and treatment-related toxicity. The department collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams and utilizes cutting-edge imaging modalities, including multi-parametric MRI, to advance scientific discovery and clinical translation. MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The Research Assistant I contributes to research projects involving the retrieval, management, and analysis of clinical imaging data, with a focus on developing and validating ADC biomarkers in collaboration with Dr. Khaled M. Elsayes and partnering investigators. The Research Assistant I will support laboratory operations, ensure high-quality research data practices, and participate in manuscript preparation, presentations, and coordinated scientific activities across the Radiation Oncology Research Department. The ideal candidate demonstrates foundational scientific knowledge with a Bachelor's degree in a basic science field and brings preferred experience in scientific or experimental research, as well as exposure to diagnostic imaging or oncology workflows. Individuals who are detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated to support innovative imaging research will succeed in the Research Assistant I position.

Salary Range:
Minimum $19.00 - Midpoint $23.80 - Maximum $28.61 Why Us? Responsibilities Imaging & Data Management Retrieve planning CTs, diagnostic MRIs, and radiation therapy dose data for patient treatment planning Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of clinical and imaging data for enrolled patients Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy through rigorous quality assurance practices Image Processing & Scientific Analysis Support image registration and segmentation of organs at risk Assist with data analysis, interpretation, and preparation of scientific manuscripts Contribute to development and validation of ADC biomarkers in head and neck, liver, and adrenal cancers Research Coordination & Compliance Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, co-investigators, and departments to execute research activities in alignment with institutional policies Assist with managing research studies, addressing protocol requirements, and supporting execution of research plans Monitoring & Auditing Support Organize and support monitoring and auditing visits Serve as a liaison to streamline audit and monitoring processes Collaborate with the research team to address findings and implement recommended improvements Laboratory Support & Operations Manage laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and readiness for research activities Maintain safety protocols for laboratory and imaging research environments Support organization and coordination of scientific research projects RequirementsEDUCATION
