Job Description

Utah Valley University is seeking a student to provide research and administrative support to the department. The Student Research Assistant position is available through approximately July 31, 2026. Students will assist Dr. Cadet with Utah Lake research. Laboratory experience is essential, along with proficiency in preparing, running, and analyzing samples for metal content. The hourly wage ranges from $15 to $18. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Gathering, compiling, cleaning, and/or entering data. Assisting with transcription and/or coding of qualitative data. Assisting in programming, coordinating, and conducting survey research, focus groups, and other data collection efforts. Cleaning and analyzing data. Assisting in producing, cleaning, and analyzing data files. And producing summaries of data from data sets. Assists with the department's social media posts and digital signs. Must be a current UVU student. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good telephone, email, and customer service skills. Attention to detail. Professionalism. Organizational skills. Computer skills (Internet, Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Good work ethic/self-motivated. Ability to be a team player. Ability to interact and communicate in person and on the phone with college students. Willingness to try/learn new things. Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and other social media.
