We are a newly established Home Health Agency seeking an experienced and knowledgeable consultant to guide us through the process of preparing for and successfully passing the CMS initial survey. Our goal is to ensure full compliance, operational readiness, and delivery of high-quality patient care from day one.Position Overview:
The Home Health Agency Consultant will play a critical role in preparing the agency for CMS certification by reviewing, implementing, and optimizing clinical, administrative, and regulatory processes. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CMS surveys, Conditions of Participation (CoPs), and home health startup operations.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive readiness assessment for CMS survey compliance Review and update policies and procedures to meet CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) Assist with development and implementation of clinical and operational workflows Prepare staff for survey through training, mock surveys, and education Ensure proper documentation practices and compliance standards are in place Review OASIS processes, patient care plans, and quality assurance programs Provide guidance on Plan of Correction (if needed) Be available during survey period for support and consultationQualifications:
Proven experience with home health agency startups and CMS certification process In-depth knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) Prior experience successfully preparing agencies for CMS/state surveys Clinical background preferred (RN, NP, or healthcare administrator) Strong understanding ofOASIS, QA/PI
programs, and compliance requirements Excellent communication and training skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience working with accreditation organizations (e.g., CHAP, ACHC, Joint Commission) Previous surveyor experience is a plusCompensation:
