Videos Duties Help The Nional Gallery of Art Conservion Division preserves the museum's collection through specialized trement, scientific research, and environmental monitoring. Conservors and scientists collabore to analyze merials, guide acquisitions, and maintain the aesthetic and structural integrity of works, including paintings, paper, and sculptures, while also hosting fellowships and conducting research. Duties for this position include Serve as the main point of contact for activities reled to the display and care of the collection, specifically institutional loans through the Across the Nion (ATN) initiive. Performs both major and minor conservion trements on works of art, focusing on loans feured in the Across the Nion initiive. Evalue facility reports and assess works of art requested by other institutions for loan under the initiive, making recommendions concerning their fitness for travel. Inspect works of art on loan to the Gallery and carry out authorized trements as needed. Analyze works of art and produce technical analyses for inclusion in Gallery calogs or publicions reled to the initiive. Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous merials. Advises and assists less experienced members of the staff, contract employees, fellows, and interns with trement-reled mters involving the Across the Nion (ATN) initiive. Conducts research on artists' methods and merials in support of conservion, especially as it reles to the Gallery's collection and the Across the Nion initiive.
