The Opportunity:
J Street's political program supports a rapidly growing national network of pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy advocates and donors who work to elect federal candidates that share our values and vision. JStreetPAC is the nation's largest pro-Israel political action committee, distributing millions of dollars each cycle to endorsed candidates. This individual will play a key role in the Political team's fundraising operations and donor engagement, as well as cultivating relationships with campaigns, candidates, and members of Congress. The ideal candidate is a self-starting, entrepreneurial thinker with keen political instincts, strong relationship management skills, and a track record of setting and hitting ambitious fundraising goals. 2-3 cycles of experience working on political campaigns, on the Hill, and/or for advocacy or political fundraising organizations is preferred for this role.
Specific Responsibilities:
Political Fundraising & Donor Engagement Steward our high- and medium-dollar political fundraising programs Manage JStreetPAC's national events calendar and own the national conduit fundraising portfolio. Maintain trackers of political fundraising and giving progress in spreadsheets and Salesforce, keeping goal-to-actual data current for leadership. Political Program Support Foster and grow relationships with fundraisers, staffers, and partners across the political ecosystem to advance J Street's political work and reputation. Grow J Street's political communication program Serve as a go-to resource for internal and external stakeholders on J Street's political and PAC work. Contribute to the organization's strategic political planning as a member of the public affairs team. Support the National Political Director and VP of Political and Digital Strategy on other key political priorities possibly to include J Street presence at the Democratic National Convention, other presidential engagement, and independent expenditure work Candidate Engagement Support day-to-day management of the endorsement process Create opportunities for J Street leadership to engage with endorsed candidates, including meetings and fundraising events during candidate travel.
Required and Desired Skills and Characteristics:
2-3 cycles of political, campaign, advocacy, or fundraising experience Strong familiarity with the motivations and dynamics that drive federal campaigns and political fundraising Proven ability to manage multiple projects and donor relationships with precision and attention to detail Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including with major donors and political stakeholders Comfortable working collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced political environment Experience managing spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel) and Salesforce or a comparable CRM required Formal education requirements are less important than relevant hands-on experience
