Behavioral Scientist (Contract)

12 Months (Potential Extension/Conversion) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Decision Science, Behavioral Economics, Social Psychology, or a related field. 8+ years of experience applying behavioral science principles to business strategy, customer experience, product development, marketing, or financial services initiatives. Experience designing and conducting behavioral research using qualitative and quantitative methods, including experiments, surveys, A/B testing, and field studies. Experience translating complex research findings into executive-level recommendations and actionable business strategies. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Decision Science, or a related discipline. Experience developing thought leadership, intellectual capital, research frameworks, or industry publications. Experience working within wealth management, financial services, or consumer financial behavior. Experience building external partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives across large organizations. About the Job We're seeking a Behavioral Scientist to help shape the future of client engagement and financial decision-making. In this role, you'll translate behavioral science research into strategic business outcomes, partnering with leaders across marketing, client experience, segmentation strategy, and innovation teams. You'll lead the development of behavioral science thought leadership, identify opportunities for experimentation, and transform research insights into scalable frameworks, recommendations, and experiences that influence both client and advisor outcomes. This role combines deep subject matter expertise with strategic thinking, requiring someone who can connect academic rigor with practical business application. Responsibilities Define and lead a behavioral science thought leadership agenda aligned to strategic business priorities. Identify critical client behavior questions and develop research programs that generate actionable insights. Design and execute experiments, pilots, surveys, and behavioral studies that validate hypotheses and inform decision-making. Translate behavioral science findings into executive narratives, client-facing insights, advisor enablement materials, and scalable business recommendations. Partner with cross-functional teams including marketing, research, strategy, product, communications, and customer experience. Build and manage relationships with universities, research institutions, industry experts, and innovation partners. Develop behavioral frameworks, models, diagnostic tools, and intellectual property that differentiate the organization's approach to client engagement. Connect behavioral science to segmentation strategy, customer journeys, marketing conversion, engagement, retention, and growth initiatives. Define measurement frameworks and evaluate the impact of behavioral science initiatives on business outcomes. Support stakeholders with behavioral science consulting, guidance, and rapid problem-solving. Success in This Role Establishes high-value strategic partnerships with leading academic and industry organizations. Produces impactful thought leadership that influences business strategy and market positioning. Delivers measurable improvements in customer engagement, conversion, adoption, retention, and advisor effectiveness.
