- Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions.
Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part time employees.

Federal Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with faculty, staff, and students to enhance and support the Sustainable Community Food Systems (SCFS) program's experiential learning opportunities Assist in coordinating educational and/or research projects Join the collaborative research to expand the reach and provide increased exposure to UH West O'ahu programs and SCFS career pathways. Assist the Principal Investigator &/or Project Leader in delivering the outcomes of the Huka'i 'Ike 'Aina (HI'A) project. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in food systems, sustainability, environmental science, Hawaiian Studies, or related field study, and/or at least 10 years of experience with community organizations involved in biocultural revitalization. Technical experience in sustainability and/or quantitative methods. Experience in teaching indigenous and traditional ecological knowledge (ITEK) curriculum.
