Job Summary:

Morton Salt's Silver Springs, NY location has an opening(s) for Temporary College Student Summer Worker starting at the end of May. The right individual(s) will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including working within different areas throughout the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to plant operation and maintenance. Ability to understand the systems and equipment used at the facility. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Will at all times be alert to safety conditions and will strictly adhere to all safety requirements, quality control guidelines, environmental policies/procedures and other plant policies. Be familiar with Food & Safety and Quality programs within the plant.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Currently attending college. Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Production and maintenance work as well as project-based work on the production floor. Frequent high acuity hearing and depth perception. Constant noise 80dB and over. Frequent vibration, dryness, dust, and mechanical hazards. Varied temperature due to weather conditions. Eye protection, hearing protection, head covering, and foot protection required.
