All job offers are contingent upon Human Resources final approval This recruitment will be used to fill 9 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Technical Assistant positions for the Crop & Soil Science Extension Department at Oregon State University (OSU). Season project involving preparations and planting seed potato samples in soil-floored greenhouses. Conditions are sometimes dusty and include working with hand tools to cut seed pieces, planting the pieces, and helping to keep detailed records. Position is located at Oregon State University main campus, in Corvallis, and is approximately from October 1, 2026 to February 17, 2027. Position Duties Applicants will need to be detail oriented to keep and maintain careful records. This position will be conducted in a greenhouse and involves the use of hand tools. Duties include, but are not limited to: Preparation of greenhouses for planting Raking and watering Arranging seed potato samples for planting Treating to break dormancy Lifting and stacking 50lb bags of potatoes Cutting seed Planting by hand General clean-up Transferable Skill Development OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees.
