Engineering & Business Location Erie, Pa Position Summary Career Readiness Learning Objectives:
Critical Thinking- The student worker will gather and analyze information from the literature and identify appropriate solutions to existing problems. The student worker is expected to summarize and interpret experimental data and prioritize action steps. Communication- The student worker is expected to improve writing skills by drafting project reports and/or manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. The student is also expected to attend workshops or conferences to present their results, which can further strengthen their communication skills. Provide research and lab support in the Biomedical Engineering Department. The position is capped at 20 hours per week. The days and times required will vary based on project responsibilities and needs. Required Qualifications The position requires students majoring in engineering, preferably juniors or seniors. Candidates must have basic knowledge of programming, simulation tools, and 3D printing techniques. Preferred Qualifications Electrical, biomedical, and mechanical engineering students. Candidates must have completed introductory chemistry and biology courses and laboratories, as well as GU safety training. Basic knowledge of programming and 3D printing is required. Familiarity with ANSYS or other simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB) is an asset. Physical Demands This position requires minimal physical demands, but applicants should be able to safely lift 50 pounds and sit and/or stand for extended periods.
