Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with course work in natural resources, geography, sustainability, environmental science, public administration, communications, or related field.
Equivalency:
Equivalent years of experience are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience for every one (1) year of education required.
Experience:
Two years related experience, particularly in analytical research, education, landscaping, customer service or public communication. Tell me more... Peoria's Water Conservation and Sustainability Division is looking for an energetic go-getter to join our team as a Water Conservation Specialist. This position works in a fast-paced, close-knit team that works with all types of water customers and regional partners to advance conservation. Each day can be different, and working on a dynamic team leads to individual growth while navigating a changing environment crucial for our community. This position would be responsible for performing activities related to Arizona Department of Water Resources' required water conservation programs, Sustainable U education, related city event staffing, data tracking, leading the commercial programs, assisting with research and inter-departmental collaboration, as well as conducting landscape consultations. Duties may also include completing related tasks as assigned to meet the goals and objectives outlined in the City's Sustainable Peoria Plan and the Water Conservation Plan. Some nights and weekend work is required. The ideal candidate for this position will have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Great attention to detail and organization skills Public presentation and/or teaching skills Knowledge of Arizona water sources Knowledge of plants and outdoor watering The ability to work outdoors The ability to adapt to a changing work environment Demonstrated experience in Microsoft and Excel Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and desire to learn and understand To view the full job description, work environment and physical demands, click here.
