POSITION DEFINITION
Under the immediate supervision of the Sr. Water Resources Analyst, incumbent will perform ongoing duties in the completion of company-wide water supply reporting and work with Operations and Water Resources to maintain water supply tracking analysis and reports. Assist in drought and other water supply forecasting; may do other work as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Verifies daily plant usage inputs (daily plant reports) on a monthly basis. Investigates any anomalous inputs on plant usage reports and makes necessary corrections in the Field Data Collection (FDC) of the SAMS Water Supply Database (SAMS)
- Part of the team that administers the SAMS Water Supply Database
- Reviews, updates and analyzes water supply summary report
- Prepares and submits supply information to be used by Finance and Accounting for monthly accrual journals, including power for pumping
- Updates monthly Water Supply Tracking Reports, Water Loss and Unbilled Non-Revenue Reports
- Prepares and analyzes monthly and quarterly reports to outside agencies such as the Water Replenishment District, Chino Basin Watermaster, Mojave Basin Watermaster, San Gabriel Basin Watermaster and Six Basin Watermaster
- Prepares and analyzes the semi-annual reports to Orange County Water District
- Reviews, analyzes and verifies pump taxes, purchased water and electric invoices
- Maintains and updates the electric billing register
- Compiles purchased water and pump tax water rates and maintains supporting documentation. Provides information to Accounting and Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Water Resources and Operations
- Assists in compiling and providing information to support the Environmental Quality group's efforts to complete the annual report to the State Water Board's Division of Drinking Water (DDW) on production, sales and customer information for all water systems
- Assists in compiling and providing information to Operation's District Engineers in the efforts to complete the annual AWWA Water Loss Audit for all systems
- Serves as a back-up reporter to submit on-line monthly Urban Water Supplier Monitoring report to the State Water Resources Control Board
- Responds to requests for information on all aspects of water supply from other company departments and outside agencies
- Provides supporting documents to Regulatory Affairs during General Rate Case proceedings and development of rate case studies
- Prepares and assists in compiling O&M Cost by well report
- Prepares and assists in the analysis preparation of O&M forecasting for Supply Expenses
- Performs special studies or duties as required
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Geology, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting or related discipline required OR eight years of related experience may be substituted for a degree
- 3+ years of analytical experience preferred - Excel proficiency required
- Ability to read and analyze supply reports and present information and respond to questions from management
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in researching, analyzing and preparing statistical and analytical studies
- Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with other departments and personnel

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
