Stream Restoration Designer II Location:
Preference to work out of our Raleigh office. Position Purpose Designers will work as part of a project team to deliver a variety of stream, wetland, and buffer restoration projects for both public and private clients across the Southeast. This work will include but is not limited to geomorphic assessments, stream and wetland restoration design, permitting, construction observation, and post-construction monitoring. Essential Functions + Responsibilities Assist in conducting geomorphic assessments (cross section and longitudinal profile survey, pebble counts, and BEHI analysis, etc.) Design, analysis, and permitting forstream and wetland restorationprojects Develop technical memos and mitigation plans Delineate drainage areas and use AutoCADor ArcGISto develop drainage area maps Complete Hydrograph routing, Riverine Modeling, FEMA Flood Studies, CLOMR/LOMR letters, and No-Rise certifications Complete analyses of open channel systems Work in accordance with company standards withprojectteam from concept phase through construction administration for a variety ofprojects Assist with annual monitoring activities of constructedprojects and preparation of annual monitoring reports. Be willing to perform field work as necessary for geomorphic assessments, construction observation, and monitoring activities Be able to manage time spent on assigned tasks efficiently Qualifications Four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited program in CivilEngineering, EnvironmentalEngineering, Biological and AgriculturalEngineering, CivilEngineering Technology, or related field 2- 5 years of experience in water resources and environmental design experience Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3Dand ArcGIS Experience with technical writing Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Self-starter with strong drive to better oneself,projectteam, and community Work collaboratively with all team members on all aspects of project execution Possess strong organizational skills with an attention to detail Candidates should be prepared to provide work samples and/or take a CAD assessment Preferences EI on path to PE Rosgen or equivalent stream restoration training Stormwater Control Measure design training McAdams is an equal opportunity employer.
