Learn more at . Job Summary Want to build a high-demand career at the intersection of environmental science and civil construction? Silver Leaf SWPPP is hiring an entry-level Environmental Field Technician to support our high-volume groundwater management and dewatering operations across the Wasatch Front. In this role, you will get hands-on experience setting up specialized pumping systems, monitoring water quality, and ensuring environmental compliance on major commercial and civil jobsites. We will fully train you on our environmental protocols and equipment. However, you must bring a strong work ethic, comfort working outdoors around heavy machinery, mechanical aptitude, and the digital literacy required to track field data accurately.
Responsibilities System Installation:
Assist with the physical setup, assembly, and teardown of dewatering equipment, including submersible pumps, piping networks, and filtration/sediment tanks.
Field Maintenance:
Perform routine mechanical checks on active pumping systems and generators to ensure continuous uptime and safe operation.
Environmental Sampling:
Conduct regular water quality testing and groundwater sampling to monitor for potential environmental contaminants.
Digital Reporting:
Use tablets and field software to document water flow rates, upload daily site logs, and complete regulatory compliance paperwork.
Site Coordination:
Communicate daily with site superintendents and team leadership to provide status updates on water management operations.
Safe Operations:
Navigate active, fast-paced commercial and civil construction sites safely while strictly adhering to OSHA guidelines.
Required Qualifications Work Ethic & Aptitude:
Strong desire to learn water resource management, civil infrastructure systems, and environmental compliance protocols.
Physical Capability:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds (hoses, fittings, tools).
Technical Literacy:
Comfort using mobile apps or tablets to input daily field logs, upload photos, and track data.
Mechanical Inclination:
Comfortable working with basic hand tools, hardware, and motorized equipment (generators, pumps).
Driving Record:
Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving history to safely operate company utility vehicles to and from local jobsites. Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desired but Trainable)
Education:
Associate Degree or higher in Construction Management, Environmental Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Construction Exposure:
Prior experience or familiarity working on active commercial, utility, or heavy civil construction sites. Compensation, Benefits & Perks Our total compensation package for this role is highly competitive and designed to reward hard work:
Base Hourly Pay:
$23.00 starting (Paid weekly)

Work Location & Schedule:
Full-time, In-person at Salt Lake City, UT 84104.
