Duties:
Review Forest plans and the Endangered Species Act (ESA) consulting efforts that were involved with these decisions. Provide feedback, both written and formal, relative to the strengths and weaknesses of these documents relative to terrestrial species that are protected under ESA. Identify and collate existing information that can be used in the completion of Biological Assessments. Review and summarize existing Endangered Species Act consultation documents related to Forest Plans and identify missing information. 60% Organize existing information from the reviewed documents in a manner that it can eventually be crafted into a Biological Assessment. 25% Work with the rest of the team (on-line meetings) to describe strength and weaknesses of existing ESA as it related to their taxonomic specialty 10% Work with Forest Service leadership and Regulatory Agencies to address concerns related to failure to consult on legacy forest plans 5%
Qualifications:
Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience
OR BA/BS
Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy or related field of study. Previous ESA consultation work. Experience required with Windows
