Position Overview SPN is seeking a Texas state-certified, bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Grade 6-12 Science Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a predominantly non-English-speaking classroom. The ideal candidate will foster inquiry-based learning, support language development, and help students build critical thinking and problem-solving skills through scientific exploration. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality science instruction (e.g., biology, chemistry, or integrated science) aligned to Texas state standards
• Utilize inquiry-based, hands-on, and experiential learning strategies
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic and language needs
• Integrate English language development into science instruction
• Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement; maintain accurate grade records
• Communicate expectations clearly and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Ensure safe handling of materials, equipment, and lab procedures
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
• Utilize technology and student information systems (SIS) for instruction and reporting Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Texas Teaching Certification (Science, Grades 6-12 preferred)
• Bilingual in Spanish (required)
• ESL Certified or in process of obtaining certification
• Ability to pass federal background check requirements Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in science, education, or related field
• Experience working with English language learners
• Experience with lab-based and project-based instruction
• Familiarity with technology-driven or blended learning environments Skills & Abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for diverse learners
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and classroom management
• Experience with student information systems (SIS)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and manage classroom/lab materials
• Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout instructional periods Compensation & Benefits Salary $79,000
