Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to support sample management and molecular sample processing activities within a large enterprise environment. This role focuses on executing laboratory workflows related to nucleic acid extraction, quality control, and sample tracking while ensuring high quality data generation for research and development teams. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in genomics or molecular biology laboratory environments and possess strong documentation and analytical skills. The candidate will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support scientific operations and maintain compliance with laboratory standards and procedures. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast paced research environments and are passionate about delivering accurate and timely scientific results.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform sample processing activities following laboratory safety procedures, SOPs, and organizational policies. Execute wet lab workflows for extraction of high quality nucleic acids from tissues, cells, blood, and other biological samples. Generate and analyze nucleic acid quality control data within established timelines. Interpret and curate QC data to support downstream molecular workflows and sample quality assessment. Maintain accurate experimental records, processing notes, and quality documentation. Perform troubleshooting for laboratory workflows independently and report process deviations as required. Support sample receipt, reconciliation, storage, and tracking activities within the sample management system. Maintain laboratory instruments used for nucleic acid extraction and quality control processes. Participate in scientific and technical discussions to present data and workflow updates. Collaborate effectively with cross functional and matrixed teams to support operational goals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or related scientific field with 2 plus years of relevant laboratory experience. Master's degree in Genetics, Genomics, or related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Hands on experience performing nucleic acid extraction workflows from biological source materials. Experience with nucleic acid quality control methods including fluorescence quantification, absorbance analysis, and integrity assessment. Strong proficiency in micropipetting techniques and laboratory documentation practices. Ability to strictly follow SOPs, laboratory procedures, and quality guidelines. Strong computer proficiency including experience with Enterprise tools applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with LIMS and sample tracking systems. Experience supporting automation platforms and laboratory workflow maintenance. Experience working in regulated or CLIA certified laboratory environments. Experience with scientific documentation, clinical writing, or editing laboratory manuals. Ability to quickly learn new laboratory methodologies and improve workflow processes. Strong communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary environments.
