Scrap Metal Worker

Job Overview:

We are a metal recycling company looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team in the yard. In this hands on position you will handle the processing, sorting, and transportation of scrap metal materials, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Responsibilities:

Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, and other heavy equipment safely and effeciently. Help clients by unloading, sorting, and weighing scrap metal materials. Stripping wires, sort, and categorize metals by type and quality. Break down appliances such as A/C units and other scrap items. Load and unload materials in the yard, using appropriate tools and machinery, ensuring proper handling to prevent injury. Maintain an organized work area environment. Assist with transportation of scrap materials to designated location/ area using forklifts or box trucks.

• Experience operating box trucks or forklifts is a plus
• Speak both English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in recycling, construction, or general labor is preferred but not required, we are willing to train the right person.

Pay:

$14.50 - $15.00 per hour
