  • Biological Science Technician (Wildlife) your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Support implemention of black-footed ferret captive-breeding program objectives and protocols.
Perform daily animal care, including feeding, cleaning, monitoring health, and providing basic trement. Maintain records by documenting animal health da and routine care activities. Assist with specialized seasonal care, diet preparion, live trapping, and preparion of animals for transport or release. Contribute to facility upkeep, support research observions, and communice regularly with supervisors and senior staff. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or Nional. Qualificions Only experience and educion obtained by 05/20/2026 In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualificion. Minimum Qualificion [GS-05] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-04 in the Federal service. Experience may include 1) assisting in the planning and conducting of wildlife censuses and surveys; 2) capturing, handling, and tagging a variety of wildlife; 3) assisting with wildlife studies; and 4) recording scientific da to prepare reports. OR A bachelor's degree, or have successfully completed of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major field of study (or least 24 semester hours of study) in biology, chemistry, stistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mhemics. At least 6 semester hours are directly reled to this position . OR A combinion of educion and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizions (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). One academic year of gradue educion is considered to be the number of credits hours your gradue school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
