Seasonal County Roadside Mowers

Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, the Mower Operator is a seasonal, part-time non-exempt position under FLSA. The primary responsibilities of this employee includes operating mower tractor with a side mount mower along the county road side. This employee will also assist with cutting trees and cleaning ditches and culverts. This employee must be able to work with minimum direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operates tractor with side mount mower along the county rural road ways; Assists with tree trimming, tree removal and other vegetation control; Operates other various county equipment to assist with cleaning ditches and culverts; Operator performs routine service and maintenance on equipment; Maintains accurate daily log of all work completed; Installs traffic control devices and provides traffic control where necessary;

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

Operates a two-way radio; Attends and participates in training and educational sessions for department employees; Assists other County departments as required; Performs other duties as deemed necessary or as assigned.
