Seasonal Meter Technician

SUMMARY This is a non-supervisory position. Primary responsibilities are efficiently and effectively conducting various tasks related to meter and service line maintenance. maintenance on JCSUD meter infrastructure as needed. Duties will include (but are not limited to) routine maintenance and assisting other staff. This is a temporary position ranging from 2 -3 months with no minimum number of hours guaranteed; no leave, retirement, or health benefits will be offered. Hourly rate is $16/hr.

• Perform various tasks related to general meter and service line maintenance.
• Manually excavate in and around customer water meter boxes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing tasks.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. May be exposed to extreme heat during the summer.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Valid driver's license or ability to reliably commute to the work site.
• Work cooperatively with JCSUD executive management, as well as employees, consultants, contractors, and members of the public.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and write the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to make mathematical calculations by adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
