Security Guard - Welch Hospital

General Description - This position performs security work at Welch Community Hospital . Work involves periodic inspection of buildings and grounds, offices, and equipment to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry or exit; periodic inspections of plant equipment such as boilers, fire extinguishers, etc. As designated by the supervisor. Incumbent may be required to work on rotating shifts and holidays. This position may require the use of physical force in apprehending or detaining patients, visitors, employees, or trespassers who violate the rules of the hospital. Will be responsible for locking up valuables, admitting bodies to morgue and keeping logs of the same. May also perform minor maintenance tasks as needed. Responsible for accompanying personnel to pharmacy and central supply and logging entries. Mandatory overtime is an essential job function of this position. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable causes, as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Welch community Hospital is a tobacco free facility.
