Job Overview Responsible for performing alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster. Provide vehicle transportation support function under direction of supervisor in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
Responsibilities Essential Job Duties:
Transport students to work-based learning sites, college, airport, and other activities. Must be able to work all shifts. Ensure the physical security of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment. Maintain log of findings and corrective action taken. Monitor and direct urinalyses and Breathalyzer as required. Assist in transporting ill or injured students as required. Respond to fire alarms, take necessary steps to report fires, assist in suppressing fires, and reset fire alarm equipment. Operate passenger vehicles; transport passengers and/or packages. Ensure adherence to established schedules. Ensure proper student/visitor checkout and procedures are followed. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices. Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn. Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities:
Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. Having the ability to work under pressure as well as ensuring timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work. The proper use of tools and/or equipment commonly used in an office/clerical environment. Completing all mandated training requirements per government and company directives. Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices. Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.Job Requirements Mandatory:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One (1) year experience with an organized security department, law enforcement agency, or experience with security duties. Successfully pass background check and drug test required on the contract. Current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.Preferred:
Previous experience in law enforcement. Training with an organized security department.Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in an office setting and at various locations on Center. Employee must regularly walk, climb stairs and visually observe Center environment. Employee must be able to run and respond to physical altercations or other emergencies rapidly for the safety of students, Center staff and property. Employee must be able to safely operate a passenger vehicle and supervise students simultaneously.Physical Requirements:
This position requires the employee to be able to frequently required to sit, stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Work somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing office space. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
