Job Description As a Security Officer Patrol Support Specialist in Edgewater, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience for shoppers and staff. PM What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out assigned security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefronts, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions. Monitor access points, observe customer and vendor traffic, and assist with security-related concerns such as suspicious activity, lost persons, and/or policy-related issues. Support retail operations by preparing accurate reports, maintaining awareness of daily activity, and following Allied Universal standards and post instructions during each shift.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 2 years of security-related experience is required. Customer service experience is preferred. A guard card/license is preferred. Loss prevention experience is preferred. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
