Full-time Job Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the treatment center's premises, staff, clients, and visitors. This role includes monitoring access to the facility, managing deliveries, and maintaining a safe environment in accordance with the center's policies and procedures. The Security Officer will also be trained in PMT (Physical Management Techniques) to assist in situations requiring de-escalation or physical intervention.
Work Hours:
4pm to 12am Needs to have the ability to work during the week as well as weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
Access Control:
Monitor and control entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises. Maintain a log of all visitors, clients, and staff entering and exiting the facility.
Package Handling:
Receive and log all deliveries, ensuring packages are properly inspected and delivered to the appropriate department or individual.
Patrols and Monitoring:
Conduct regular patrols of the facility, both indoors and outdoors, to ensure all areas are secure and free of safety hazards.
Incident Reporting:
Document and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or emergencies to the appropriate management personnel. Assistance in
Crisis Situations:
Utilize PMT (Physical Management Techniques) when necessary to assist staff in managing behavioral incidents or emergencies in a safe, controlled manner.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce the facility's policies, including fire safety regulations, emergency evacuation procedures, and proper visitor protocols.
Communication:
Work closely with clinical and operations teams to address security concerns and provide support in situations that may affect the safety of clients or staff.
Equipment Management:
Monitor the proper functioning of security equipment (e.g., cameras, locks) and report any malfunctions for timely repairs.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred. Certification or willingness to undergo PMT (Physical Management Techniques) training. Strong observational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations. High school diploma or equivalent; further education in security or law enforcement is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Physical ability to perform PMT techniques if needed.
