Job Description

The Security Service Technician is responsible for independently performing service, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. The technician ensures systems operate properly, meets customer expectations, and supports compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems. Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner. Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals. Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely. Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time. Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status. Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements Travel to job sites as required. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role. Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems. Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without direct supervision. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
Shape Other Duties:
Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments. Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites. Use of hand tools and testing equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
