Non-ExemptJOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Security Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors by actively monitoring the campus and security systems, including the Evolve Detection System. This position serves as a key member of the school safety team, working closely with school administrators and School Resource Officers (SROs) to identify, report, and respond to security concerns.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor the Evolve Detection System and other electronic security systems to detect unauthorized items or suspicious activity. Conduct ongoing surveillance of school premises to ensure safety and security protocols are followed. Identify and report security concerns or breaches promptly to school administration and the assigned SRO. Assist in implementing emergency response procedures during crisis situations, drills, or real-time incidents. Maintain accurate records of security-related incidents, detections, and daily observations. Collaborate with administrators, security personnel, and law enforcement to enhance campus safety strategies. Provide support during student arrival, dismissal, and high-traffic times to ensure orderly movement and safety. Serve as a visible and approachable presence on campus to deter unsafe behaviors and promote a positive school climate. Attend training sessions and stay current with district safety procedures and system updates. Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds and remain standing for prolonged periods of time. Pleasant demeanor to interact with students and visitors. Other responsibilities as determined by administration.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience High school graduate. Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.Responsibility Responsibilities include:

Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the district's services.
