Semi-Skilled Maintenance

This is a temporary summer position. The Semi- Skilled Maintenance position requires a self-starter with the ability to understand how to repair equipment and manage time wisely. Repair work is of a varied nature, requiring some knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs. This position will require lawn grooming and keeping outside area insect free. Knowledge of schematics and blueprints is desirable.

Education:

High School graduate/GED preferred. Good use of vocabulary, math and communicating skills.

Experience and Training:

Must have general knowledge of air conditioning and steam generation, as well as plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs. Previous experience in maintenance at hospital or other institution desirable.

Ability to perform all mechanical skills related to skilled maintenance duties. Ability to lift and climb to perform job functions. Able to work in crowded environment and different temperatures. Able to work in stressful environment and respond/react immediately to emergency situation. Able to walk and stand on feet majority of work shift. Able to function with limited or no supervision
