Job Description

Position Summary Coffman Specialty Building Products is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to support the daily financial operations of the company. This role will assist the Director of Finance with accounting processes, financial reporting, and transactional accuracy across the organization. The Senior Accountant will play an important role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting month-end close, and improving reporting processes within a growing specialty building products distribution business. Key Responsibilities Month- End Close Assist with the preperation and maintenance of general ledger accounts. Post journal entries and ensure accuracy of financial transactions. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Support Assist with monitoring customer receivables and payment application. Support AP invoice processing and vendor payment preparation. Work with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies. Financial Reporting/ Treasury Management Prepare supporting scheduled for monthly financial statements. Asist in compiling management reports and variance analysis. Support reporting related to sales, margins, inventory, and operating expenses. Weekly flash report and other ad hoc analysis. Assist in preparation of cash forecast and analysis. Inventory & Cost Accounting Support Assist with inventory reconciliations and adjustments. Support Margin and cost analysis for product lines. Help maintain accurate product cost data within the ERP system. Process improvement / Other Help Identify opportunities to streamline accounting process. Assist with documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls. Support system improvements and data accuracy initiatives. Asist with the implementation to new AP process and procedures. Assist with the weekly and twice monthly payroll runs. Audit & Compliance Assist with preperation of schedules and documentation for external audits. Ensure accounting activities comply with company policies and GAAP standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 2-4 years of accounting experience (internship experience acceptable). Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting Preferred Qualifications Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or construction-related industries. CPA or CPA-eligible. Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems. Solid understanding of GAAP Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse team members and partners.
