Senior Accountant

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe're partnering with a growing, well-established organization in the Grand Rapids area to hire a Senior Accountant. This role plays a key part in day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is looking for long-term growth. Key Responsibilities Own and support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP Review balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate and resolve variances Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Assist with audit preparation and act as a liaison for external auditors Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy Support and mentor staff-level accounting team members as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong general ledger and month-end close experience Manufacturing, distribution, or mid-market industry experience preferred CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus, but not required Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar) Advanced Excel skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines Why This Opportunity Stable, growing organization with a strong local presence Exposure to leadership and opportunity to influence processes Hybrid flexibility Clear path for advancement (Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller) Competitive compensation and benefits

Pay Details:
