Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is an experienced accounting professional responsible for managing and overseeing the full-cycle accounting functions for assigned entities or business units. This role supports the Accounting Manager or Controller by ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, providing guidance to junior staff, and contributing to process improvements. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of GAAP to support high-quality financial and operational decision-making.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and post journal entries; maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP Review and analyze account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies Manage cash activity, including monitoring cash positions and performing bank reconciliations Record revenue and expenses accurately and ensure proper cutoff and classification Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines Assist with internal and external audit requests and documentation Participate in the preparation and review of annual budgets and forecasts Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules, including variance analysis Investigate and resolve accounting issues and irregularities in a timely manner Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accounting guidance and support Assist with tax filings, compliance reporting, and other regulatory requirements Support recurring accounting processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements Provide training, mentorship, and review of work performed by junior accounting staff Assist leadership with special projects, reporting, and financial analysis as neededGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, particularly around cash and financial reporting processes Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and GAAP standards Contribute to accounting policy decisions and proper treatment of complex transactions Support ad hoc accounting and finance requests as neededREQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and provide leadership within a team environment High level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statementsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required, with a minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook required. Experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms is preferred.Pay:
