Job Description

TriSource Staffing is partnering with a growing organization to hire a Benefits Analyst with a strong focus on self-funded health plans, claims analytics, and cost modeling. This role is ideal for someone with an analytical mindset who understands the financial and operational side of employee benefits and enjoys using data to drive strategic decisions around plan performance, utilization, and cost containment. This position will work closely with brokers, TPAs, stop-loss carriers, finance, and HR leadership to analyze trends, support forecasting, and optimize the overall effectiveness of the organization's benefits programs. What You'll Do Analyze medical, pharmacy, dental, and ancillary claims data to identify utilization trends, cost drivers, and potential savings opportunities Partner with TPAs, stop-loss carriers, brokers, and vendors to review plan performance, large claims activity, and renewal projections Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling related to self-funded health plans and benefit spend Assist with stop-loss reporting, reimbursement tracking, laser analysis, and claims flow oversight Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting on plan utilization, enrollment trends, premium equivalents, and employee contributions Monitor key metrics related to plan performance, including high-cost claimants, chronic conditions, network disruption, and utilization patterns Reconcile benefits billing, claims funding, administrative fees, and vendor invoices in partnership with accounting and finance teams Support annual renewals, open enrollment strategy, and plan design analysis by providing data-driven recommendations Assist with vendor evaluations, benchmarking, and cost containment initiatives Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations related to self-funded plans Develop reporting dashboards, improve analytics processes, and strengthen internal controls around benefits data and reporting Respond to escalated employee benefits issues and assist with complex claims resolution as needed What You'll Bring 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, benefits analytics, actuarial support, healthcare consulting, or self-funded plan analysis Strong understanding of self-funded health plans, TPAs, stop-loss coverage, claims adjudication, and healthcare funding structures Experience analyzing claims data, utilization reports, renewal data, and cost trends Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting functions Ability to interpret financial and actuarial reporting related to employee benefits programs Experience partnering with brokers, carriers, actuaries, consultants, and third-party administrators Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other benefits compliance requirements Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to communicate complex benefits and financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar systems Preferred CEBS, SHRM-CP, CBP, or actuarial coursework/certification progress Experience supporting large or multi-state employee populations Exposure to underwriting, actuarial modeling, population health analytics, or healthcare cost containment strategies Experience working alongside finance or actuarial consulting teams Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel modeling

$45.00 - $50.00 per hour
