Cardiac Rhythm Management offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions. Within CRM R D, we are seeking a highly skilled High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer to design, implement, and operate advanced compute environments that support complex computation, simulation, AI/ML workloads, product development, and performance engineering activities. This role combines deep Linux systems expertise, HPC infrastructure engineering, and operational excellence to ensure highly available, scalable, and high-performance compute environments. A Day in the Life In general, the Senior Design Automation Engineer will work across a mix of infrastructure engineering, system operations, and user enablement.
A typical day may include:
Deploying and maintaining systems
- Perform OS deployments, application upgrades, and manage HPC software stacks across compute, storage, and networking environments Supporting users and workflows
- Field user requests, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflows to improve performance and usability Collaborating across teams
- Work closely with IT, Security, Sourcing, Numerical Modeling, AI, IC Design, and other engineering teams to align infrastructure with business needs Driving continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation, performance tuning, and process improvements to enhance HPC environment efficiency Must Have

Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math and minimum of 4 years of work experience in science, technology, engineering, math OR advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, or math, with 2 years of technical experience Nice to Have Networking experience including proficiency with high-speed interconnects and protocols like RDMA, knowledge of network protocols, and experience with network hardware Hands-on experience with HPC cluster management, job schedulers, and parallel file systems Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity, Apptainer, PodMan) Experience with GPU computing and accelerators Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. mySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server) Self-starter with ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment Demonstrated presentation, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving skills About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
