Job Description

We are seeking a Senior-level Diesel Mechanic to work within our experienced Shop team. An ideal candidate would have 8+ years experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic repairing a wide variety of diesel-powered engines, equipment, and trucks, including feed trucks. This person will be responsible for: Supporting the Adams Land & Cattle safety program and exemplifying safety expectations. Independently troubleshooting, diagnosing, rebuilding, replacing, and completing all required repairs on a wide variety of diesel-powered engines, equipment, and trucks, including feed trucks. Using specialized tools, computer software, and advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problems across various diesel systems. Troubleshooting complex drivability problems, as well as malfunctions in engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, exhausts, electrical and hydraulic systems Managing complex repairs efficiently using critical thinking skills to identify issues quickly and develop effective repair strategies. Performing repairs including but not limited to: engine rebuilds and complex overhauls, repairing/replacing transmissions and faulty components, including fuel systems, electrical systems and exhaust systems, and repairing other drivability issues. Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Communicating effectively with internal customers and team members to explain technical issues and provide updates on repair progress and recommendations. Building and maintaining strong external business relationships. Collaborating with external contract resources to accomplish repairs that are outsourced. Utilizing asset management software for repair documentation. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and OSHA regulations. Mentoring junior mechanics and coordinating with other team members to solve problems. Completing other duties, as assigned. Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications: 8+ years hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic required Experience desired on the following types of equipment/engines: Kenworth/Western Star and Paccar/Cummins Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician or other equivalent certification desired. Deep technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and complex electrical systems. Proficient in reading technical manuals and using diagnostic software. Diagnostic and troubleshooting ability. Independent analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail. Ability to read/understand technical and service manuals. Ability to read wiring diagrams and test circuits. Excellent communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Willingness to learn/complete ongoing training. Requirements & Compensation This position requires: Individual must be able to work in adverse conditions, if needed. Exerting 50-100 pounds of force frequently; 25-50 pounds of force frequently; 10-20 pounds of force frequently. Standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching/handling/grasping, and stairs continuously; carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, and kneeling/crouching frequently; sitting, climbing, and crawling occasionally. Valid drivers license
Compensation Details:
$35.00-$50.00 per hour $5,000 Hiring Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits which begin on Day 1 of employment (including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, bonus plan, company match 401(k), and more!)
