Position Description:
The Senior Environmental Consultant is responsible for independently managing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and subsurface investigations for residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Primary accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Plan, design, and direct Phase I ESA and Phase II investigations in accordance with regulatory requirements. Review and interpret analytical data, developing strategies for managing soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor contamination. Prepare technical reports with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations, demonstrating a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance. Coordinate and oversee field activities, including drilling of soil borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, excavation of contaminated soils/materials, wetland delineations, and geotechnical evaluations. Communicate project requirements and schedules, findings, and recommendations to clients, regulatory agencies, and internal staff. Perform business development activities including developing and maintaining client relationships, attending networking events, participating in conferences and seminars, and actively pursuing involvement in professional organizations. Prepare proposals for various project opportunities and establish reasonable budgets and scopes of work. Facilitate the development of sites for redevelopment, including environmental cleanup and pre-demo inspections. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring high-quality project execution. Support the NTS safety program through safe work practices, policy adherence, hazard reporting, and commitment to safe project execution. Other duties as assigned or necessary.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering. 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, site investigation, or remediation. Strong understanding of environmental remediation and hazardous materials response. Strong knowledge of Brownfields Amendments, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive, high-quality technical reports. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and bridge gaps between different professional disciplines. Professional certification such as PE or PG preferred. Project management experience preferred.Compensation & Schedule:
