Senior Groundskeeper - Anticipated 12
Month Position Minimum Salary:
$54,652.00 Salary Commensurate with experience as per
CSEA Contract Hours:
6:30am - 3:00pm, M-F The Goshen Central School District is seeking a 12-month Senior Groundskeeper. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities in accordance with established rules and regulations and involves the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over the work of the Maintenance Workers in the Grounds Department.
Minimum Requirements:
Must meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirements Must meet civil service requirements Valid Driver's License required Minimum of 2 years' experience in maintaining property and sports fields
Typical Duties:
This position is responsible for supervising and participating in grounds maintenance for the Goshen Central School District. The role combines hands-on outdoor work with oversight of staff and maintenance operations.
Typical Duties:
Knowledge of the accepted procedures and practices of grounds maintenance work Knowledge of basic and routine maintenance of grounds equipment Good knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, materials and terminology of grounds maintenance activities Ability to effectively supervise and manage employees Ability to plan the work for the grounds crew Participate in grounds maintenance activities including but not limited to cutting grass, clearing brush, repairing parking areas, painting and leveling athletic fields, and lay out fields for seasonal sports including getting them ready for games Ability to operate a truck and other grounds equipment Ability to follow oral and written directions Ability to perform routine manual work Maintains and prepares facilities and equipment for each season Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position including being able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis Ability to organize and plan for snow removal Maintains grounds and facilities including but not limited to lawns, walkways, driveways, snow and trash removal Ability to perform other tasks assigned by the Director of Facilities Ability to prepare schedule of daily operations of grounds department including working in conjunction with the Athletic Director Ability to maintain inventory Good communication skills required Basic computer skills required Knowledge of grounds keeping tools, materials, and equipment
