Job Description
Position Summary Cardinal Tissue is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our manufacturing operations in Spindale, NC . This role partners closely with plant leadership and employees to support a positive workplace culture, effective people practices, and operational success. This position also works with/leads additional HR Business Partners at our manufacturing operations in Rock Hill, SC and Palatka, FL This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, adaptable, and eager to grow in a hands-on HR role within a manufacturing environment . We welcome candidates who bring strong HR experience, as well as emerging other manufacturing professionals who bring strong organizational, people and continuous improvement experience. The HR Business Partner will support employee relations, recruiting, compliance, engagement initiatives, and leadership support , while contributing new ideas to improve processes and strengthen the employee experience. Because Cardinal Tissue is a growing organization , this role will have the opportunity to help modernize HR practices, improve processes, and support leaders through change as our operations expand. Key Responsibilities HR Partnership & Employee Relations Partner with plant leadership to support employee engagement, performance management, and workplace culture (across a 24/7 manufacturing environment) Provide guidance on employee concerns, coaching, and conflict resolution Assist with employee investigations and ensure consistent application of company policies Promote a workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, and teamwork Build strong relationships with employees and leaders across all levels of the organization Support safety culture by partnering with Safety team (EHS) on incident reviews, training, and communication Talent Acquisition & Workforce Support Support recruiting for hourly and salaried positions Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and coordinate the hiring process Create candidate/talent pipelines Assist with interviews, onboarding, and new employee integration Help ensure a positive candidate and onboarding experience Partner with supervisors to strengthen retention and reduce turnover HR Operations & Compliance Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Employee Compensation/ Payroll processing Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation Assist with HR reporting, audits, and administrative processes Assist with OSHA-related documentation, safety training records, and audit preparation Employee Development & Engagement Support training initiatives and employee development programs Assist leaders with performance management and employee coaching Help identify opportunities to improve retention, engagement, and communication Support attendance management, corrective action, and policy adherence Continuous Improvement Contribute ideas to improve HR processes, technology usage, and employee experience Support initiatives that strengthen communication, culture, and operational effectiveness We value candidates who bring new ideas, strong technology skills, and a willingness to challenge outdated processes when better solutions exist At Cardinal Tissue, HR's role is not just to enforce policies — it is to partner with leaders and employees to solve problems, improve the workplace, and help the business grow. Qualifications We are open to candidates from multiple backgrounds who demonstrate strong potential in HR and a desire to grow. Candidates may qualify through one of the following paths: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field AND/OR Relevant experience supporting employees or teams through leadership, supervision, coaching, recruiting, administrative HR support, or similar roles. Veterans transitioning from military service with experience in Personnel, Human Resources, Recruiting, Retention, or related functions are encouraged to apply. Level & Compensation This position may be filled at a developing or experienced HR Business Partner level depending on the selected candidate's experience and background.
