Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Advanced Quality Engineering team for the applicable designated Customer Business Unit(s), including, but not limited to: training, mentoring, establishing goals, performance reviews, collaboration amongst other AQMs (regular meeting cadence), etc. 2. Successfully manage all resource demands, ensuring proper allocation with capable, skilled individuals 3. Support quote process (until resources assigned): ...creation of Phase 1 Quality Workbook, including cross-functional engagement with the applicable YFAI Manufacturing plant(s)…. target setting, quote process, attending customer reviews/SDT meetings, etc. 4. Support all Quality quotes, MSA plans, gauge plans/execution, OK to Ship reviews, dimensional evaluations, Control Plan development, etc. 5. Ensure all internal launch and customer Advanced Quality Planning deliverables are completed on time, to the required quality expectations. APQP (PMP deliverables to be understood and up-to-date (Who/What/When) for Launch/Program Reviews (e.g., Quality deliverables in the Gate Workbook - PSMC, Safe Launch, etc.), ensuring a successful YFAI Manufacturing plant hand off, etc. 6. Thorough program engagement; an active member of all applicable Program Reviews, LRR reviews, Red Flag Meetings, and launch support plans, etc. 7. Drive the Advanced Quality Team to achieve theYFAI 0-0-0-90-100
launch metric 8. Support the preparation and on-time delivery of all PPAP packages for submission and approval by the Customer, ensuring a plan to meet on-time PPAP and Customer invoice timing 9. Support efforts to improve Quality performance throughout the organization by analyzing Advanced Quality metrics, applicable Operational COPQ, Customer Incidents, Customer score cards (Quality expertise), and associated metrics 10. Develop, lead, and maintain training initiatives to applicable Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) within the YFAI NA organization. Act as the CSR expert for applicable Customer business unit(s), holding quarterly reviews with applicable YFAI Manufacturing plants/launch teams on any updates/changes. 11. Ensure the Advanced Quality team is following Quality Management Systems during product/process/launch development (e.g., IOS, YFIMS, IQS, IATF 16949, VDA, etc.) 12. Provide YFAI plant operational support, as needed, for problem solving (e.g., root cause and robust PCA evaluations), internal/external audit preparation, etc. 13. Support efforts in optimizing plant Operational Quality performance and associated scorecard metrics. 14. Establish and maintain exceptional customer-facing relationships, resulting in excellent customer satisfaction 15. Conduct all work activities following company safety policies and procedures 16. Perform other duties as assigned by the BU Quality leaderSpecific Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering or Science with at least 10 years of related work experience.Work Experience:
Relevant automotive quality leadership experience (5 years minimum). Experience leading others Experience in Advanced Quality Planning, including strong proficiency with AIAG Advanced Quality Planning (e.g., Control Plans, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA, and Statistical Process Control standards, etc.) Experience withVDA/ISO/IATF
Quality Systems is required. Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable. Familiarity with the YFAI launch process is highly desirableQualification:
Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments and problem-solving methodology is required. Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is required. Black Belt certification and experience with Minitab software is highly desirable. Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable. Proficient in the use of a computer and common office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a self-directed environment. Good mechanical/technical skills and the ability to read engineering drawings are desirable. GD&T proficiency is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, including experience preparing problem-solving documents such as 8D's. American Society for Quality certification, such as current CQE status, is highly desirable. Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly in automotive-related. Travel expectation is 30% up to 50% between the company and supplier sites.
