Position Overview:
A Senior Manufacturing Associate (SMA) is responsible for taking a leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the group; be willing and able to perform all functions in the assigned area; train employees within the area as well as effectively interact and communicate with multiple departments to meet and achieve the overall goals of the factory. The SMA is responsible for supporting manufacturing needs as required by the Cable Assembly and Cable Handling forecast and schedule. You will use your expertise and experience to perform multiple transactions in our Oracle-based ERP system, troubleshoot material discrepancies and communicate with your management team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
First and foremost, this Employee will have a good record of working safely, demonstrate safe work habits and practices, train others in accordance with all safe work practices, be willing to exercise "Stop Work Authority", and participate in all safety initiatives. Candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively and efficiently as an individual and as a member of a team. Expected to establish and maintain a comfortable work environment for all that is based on trust and respect by exercising sound judgement and exhibiting excellent leadership qualities. Ensuring everyone in the team has an opportunity to voice concerns. A good leader works together with their team to achieve success. Encourage everyone in your area to seek out and identify any potential areas of waste. Provide management with supporting information regarding employee skills and attitude to facilitate employee reviews and one on ones. Attends and at times facilitates meetings as needed. Possess the ability to teach and lead trainees or veteran employees through every aspect of the Kitting process, including excellent comprehension of Oracle and its attributes as it relates to BOM structure, job releases, and resolution of Oracle issues. Proficiently and accurately enters transactions in Oracle. Able to help troubleshoot problems by working with the Engineering, Manufacturing Supervision, Material Inspection, and Production employees for resolution. Facilitate shift to shift communication to enable a consistent flow of information. Successfully learns and performs material issuing procedures, processes, and documentation requirements. PIT inspections. BOL application how to operate and create. Oracle transaction when needed, RMA and returns, manufacturing processes and other activities. Complete Raw Material Receiving log as well as how to validate if it has been recorded correctly. Kitting if applicable, documentation, picking kits, issuing kits to production. Issuing inventory items to production if applicable Understand the full production life cycle to ensure adherence to approved procedures. Keep lots together and rotate as needed for production. Assist with NCM in the NCM area when needed. Ensure RMA/Return to vendors are transacted in Oracle. Kitting
  • be knowledgeable in all aspects of preparing kits.
Follows basic inventory practices such as FIFO, lot/serial control and NCM materials. Accurately store, count, weigh and inspect for damage on all materials required by production. Safely operates heavy equipment, such as fork lifts, to maneuver, ship and receive materials, as well as legally operate a motor vehicle to complete local errands. Follows verbal and written instruction, accepts additional responsibilities and is accountable for his/her actions. Maintains timely and accurate documentation pertaining to material handling. Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department (through 5S as well as other improvement initiatives). Responds to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Sends out area reports/emails a s needed/applicable. Other duties as assigned.

  • Innovation High school diploma or equivalent required.
Three or more years of related experience and/or training preferred. Ability to problem solve, even when under pressure, using experience as well as appropriate critical thinking skills. Experience with safely operating a forklift within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and possess a positive communication style. Maintain a valid driver's license and SubCom issued forklift license. Proficient computer skills, including Internet, MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook), Oracle ERP software, document control software required. Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day. Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments. Ability to work any shift, including nights and weekends. Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
